Counselling

Just as the body is wired to heal physical wounds, the brain is wired to heal and be well. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, relationships, a crisis, or a sense of wanting something more from life, together you and your counsellor can create the optimal environment for that innate healing and your best self to come through.

It is my belief that as humans we are biologically wired to heal; each of us already holds the internal resources needed to grow and thrive. As a counsellor, I am honoured to walk alongside you as a guide in uncovering these resources, offering warmth and a grounding presence alongside evidence-based interventions to assist you along this journey.

I work from an integrated approach, utilizing attachment-based, emotion-focused, and body-based practices alongside internal parts work in my practice. I believe it is important to create space for the body, mind, and spirit to be present in our work together.

I have experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including grief and loss, emotional distress (e.g. anxiety, depression, shame, anger, stress, emotional/mental exhaustion), disordered eating and body image, life transitions, and traumatic experiences.

I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of the Fraser Valley. I have additional training in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), somatic approaches to disordered eating, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and trauma-informed care.
